I have a price of 00 for prep and painting my existing kitchen cabinets but I need to keep the exposed hinges which I think exposed is outdated. I have another price of 00 for new doors and drawers made of poplar wood and MDF and including painting them and the rest of the cabinets such as frame, rails, etc.
Is using poplar wood and Mdf good?
Not writing clearly enough but the 00 includes the new doors and drawers and painting the rest of the cabinets like rails, etc.

i have made some kitchen cabinet doors. i want to have a glazing on them before i completely finish them.... here is my process and i do plan on using latex paint.

latex water based primer
lightly sand
Paint w/ latex (flat or eggshell?)
use water base poly.
vandyke brown glazing
Then a couple more coats of poly.

does the sheen of the acual paint matter?

**Read** All music belongs to The All-American Rejects. [Move Along, It Ends Tonight, Gives You Hell] Hey everybody!! Here's part 2 of Modern Green....I realized it's a bit small so next part I'm probably gonna expand it juuussttt a smidgen. I changed the roof! Yay! Hopefully dark grey works better. In the next part I plan on finishing up the interior and doing some landscaping. I'm kind of horrid at landscaping but I'll try my best. [I've picked up a few tricks from chrillsims3 hehe] The CC I used was just the kitchen cabinets...they are from the Bayside set from the Sims 3 store...LOVE THEM! :] The ep's I have for the game are WA and Ambitions, but I only used store content in the house :] Want to download it? I am going to Home Depot today to purchase stripper for my kitchen cabinets. Any recs on what to buy? Tips on how to use it? This will be my first time using it. I am assuming I need eye protection & a resperator, anything else?

I plan on removing this ugly wall paper, get lighter colored doors on the cabinets and hardware, try to get a built in table, recessed lights and under cabinet lights, different counter tops, my floor is tiled somewhere between tan and white, I have dark cabients (oak, they are solid). I have two window next to each other, with a shorter counter height and 3 cabinets below it, thinking of getting something done there too, like a big or 2 end cabinets to store some appliances and built on table, I plan either soft paint or something like green, red, or blueish or maybe yellow for the walls, and a white ceiling celing.

I just darkened my cabinets using a gel stain. And I want to finish them off with a good polyurethane coat. But I don't know if I should get a gloss or flat finish? Any recommendations on brand, etc?

These are cabinets that look as if they came from a chain store--I was wondering if I could do this--or should I just paint them?
