I have these old kitchen cabinets that I'd like to clean, but everything I try using doesnt take off this gummy dirt that has collected. The dirt is around the areas where everyone is opening the cabinet doors. Ive tried using a small scrubby but that was a big no no because it started to take off the finish. Any ideas on what will remove the dirt? I've tried murphy's oil soap and no luck with that. Tried goo gone also and that didn't work either. Also, the cabinets are a light color so you can see the dirt!

and scratched by previous owners.Would like to use the cheapest option. The inside of the cabinets are solid wood and in great shape.I see painting the lower cabinets as the cheapest alternative. The nicks can be sanded and also the scratches. What color would you suggest. The floor is a dark wood. The counter-tops are black with tan.Walls are kilim beige.
I am refinishing my kitchen cabinets, and I want to install new concealed hinges. I can't seem to find fully concealed hinges for cabinets with a lip or rabbit, like the ones I have. I have seen the partially concealed hinges, but I want a fully concealed version. I have frame type cabinets.
Kitchen makeovers can get pretty expensive especially if youre talking cabinets. But what if you could update the look of these without completely replacing or refinishing them? And what if you could do it yourself in an afternoon? Well guess what were going to show you how to do just that. Joining us on Designing Spaces today is Micah Ray from Liberty Hardware.
Need some help. Just got a house and the previous owner painted the kitchen cabinets black. The drawers and doors are painted a beige color. How do I paint over the black? (They also painted the back of a bedroom door black too!) Can I sand down the cabinets and get all the paint off, or should I just try to cover them. They painted the walls in the kitchen a sage green and put up a border with grapes on it.
I would like it to all be either white or back to the natural wood. Any suggestions?
I moved to my new house 3 weeks ago. I have done everything to clean the horrible smell the kitchen cabinets have. You open them and the stink is in the air. Used clorox, antibacterial, lysol, dish detergent, baking soda what else can I do?
Also all the bathroom drawers have the same smell. My niece says it smells like they used the cabinets as the cat litters!!!
