I'm looking for knobs and pulls for my kitchen cabinets.

I like the look of some oil-rubbed bronze finishes, but I'm hesitant about choosing because of a bad experience with a faux finish. I'm not looking for something particularly high end, but I'd like something with a convincing finish that doesn't rub off with use.

A friend of mine had his kitchen remodeled and the wiring for the cabinets is visible in the back of the cabinets. It is also stapled to the side and the back of the cabinet and runs to the bottom corner to the recessed lights. I told him electrical wiring should not be stapled and not visible. I have never opened a cabinet with exposed wiring. Not only that but the molding is not secured to the external cabinet. The doors on the front also have a 1/4" or so gap when closed. I said the doors need to be flush, almost touching. Not a gap like Dave Lettermans teeth.

My kitchen cabinets are painted in a white semi gloss paint. I want to change them to a white high gloss paint. Should I sand before using primer or should I just prime over the semi gloss paint? Thanks for any advice.

My new build house is almost finished. The builder will do a final walk-through soon. We check out the house today and 4 cabinet doors are uneven, trim are crack, and ceiling got small hold (maybe happen when they install the door). Basically just small minor detail problem. Will they fix all this when they furnish the house.

The kitchen cabinets right above my stove are disgusting. The last people who lived here must have cooked a lot of really greasy food on the stove and now the cabinets right above it are gross with the residue. I'm not sure what I can use to remove the grease/oil/smoke residue that will be safe for the wood. Any ideas?

When I first used my Festool parallel guides I could see the potential to combined them with the Festool LR32 system to speed up the hole drilling process. The LR32 system is a great way to drill system holes for shelf pins or Euro style hardware. It is, however, a system that requires some setup time for each piece to be drilled. When combined with the parallel guides I'm able to simplify the setup and reduce the time it takes to clamp the work piece. This greatly speeds up the process without reducing accuracy. Another big advantage is I'm no longer restricted to the standard 16 mm or 32 mm offsets. I can now use custom offsets like that of the "Pearls" or "KISS II" systems.
