Mike Tadros and Linda Knapp review a kitchen designed to adhere to universal access guidelines. Linda is an expert in the field of universal design; she's a designer with Kraftmaid Cabinetry and has worked on a number of kitchens for Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Mike and Linda tour a kitchen model designed to accommodate people with special accessibility needs. Google SketchUp is used as a tool to visualize the different options, features and benefits. Linda introduces a number of universal access features of this particular kitchen, such as using 12" deep wall cabinets as a base cabinet for easy reach. Mike explains various SketchUp tools to use for modeling and presenting your designs to clients. For example, he uses the Walk tool to explore the model at wheelchair height, and mounts touch kitchen sink faucets on back or side of the sink. i can't find a base cabinet to fit the area for my kitchen sink. the area is 110cm and there are no cabinets that are 110cm. so i've started to think that maybe kitchen fitters use cabinets that are shorter for corner areas, since the worktop covers the rest of area in the corners. do fitters do this? cos it it seems to me that thats the only way it could possibly be done.

(my question may not make sense - sorry)

they used to be really dark wooden cabinets, and it made the kitchen seem really dark, and small, BUT THAT'S THE WAY MY DAD LIKES IT! and i hate it! we painted them white, and when the sun shines in, it's so bright and cheerful..my dad said "look at other people's kitchen and see what color they paint THEIR cabinets!" so i need opinions please!!!

I know how to get them cream but I'm thinking they'd look better with a brown glace finish???? Just not sure what to use so they will hold up? I want to update my kitchen but on a budget. Thanks for any suggestions from anyone who has done this.

I saw some beautiful ones on ebay I want to buy that just have the hole at the top of them where you hang them. However, I was wondering if they would fall easily from the pressure of shutting the kitchen cabinet doors and such. I wanted to put them just above my kitchen cabinets but kinda worried they'll fall or be crooked when the cabinets are used.

Am I making any sense?
