We are planning on painting our kitchen walls and cabinets, but are stuck on color choices. We have blue pearl granite counter tops, stainless steel dishwasher, a light tile floor (I would say a light beige), black oven and stove top. I was thinking about doing a nice orange for the walls, but really don't know how it would look or what color to use for the cabinets. Any color suggestions would be great!

I have light oak cabinets and the one's above the stove are greasy... What can I use to clean them that wont take the varnish off?

I live in Oklahoma and would like to be able to pick them up my self. I've talked with Sutherland's but their a bit pricey. I've looked into RTA cabinets on the net but would have to have them shipped from out of state with considerable shipping fees. I don't want particle board materials used on any part of the cabinets. Please help.

The cabinets will be next to each other so the screws will not show, except for the last cabinet that is exposed. I will also use gorilla glue to help reinforce the joints.

Here Sonya describes preparing for a busy week of subcontractors about to arrive. The house small, so she spent Sunday afternoon cleaning and organizing wood and paint supplies to make room for the cabinet maker to install the cabinets and built ins. You can see that the exterior doors have not yet arrived, and that the first floor bathroom is being used as a tempory storage room for building supplies. The west window in the stairwell is brining light through the borrowed light salvaged leaded glass window and a bright yellow orange paint was used in two places in the house -- one stairwell wall and the wall behind the kitchen cabinets. The first four stairs open up with a piano hinge and are currently covered with paper for protection. This video was taken at 8:40 pm and only daylight lights the room. If you listen closely you can hear a tree frog chimming in too!
