Anyone have any ideas on how to change my kitchen cabinets without using paint or taking them off?
BTW...the cabinets seemed to be made of melamine or a veneer with wood trim.

I’VE GOT IT! This is simple, cheap, and EASY… go pick up a nice border…flowers, diamons, checkers, whatever your preference is. Cut the pattern out of the boarder, wet the back, and apply to the fronts of the cabinets. When you want to change them, simply peel it off and use water and a sponge to remove residue.
What do you think???
Without more discription it’s hard to answer but if it’s wood you have options. You can strip the color of the wood out and recolor just the wood to a darker or lighter color. This is easy.
You could add pieces to take attention away from your cabinets. Such as the plate divider and such.
Just a few ideas. Look online at a few cabinet dealers in your area and send away fro the catalogs or in the back of magizines like womens or better homes and gardens have all kinds of stuff. This can give you visual ideas of what you might want. Then go from there. Also go to your local antique stores, remodel stores just to look. Gems can be found anywhere.
Have fun looking at any rate.

1. change the knobs
2. replace the inset panel with glass or fabric
3. remove some of the doors and leave them open
you can change the handles & knobs that will freshing them up,but if you want a big change, use starch soaked fabric,{squeesed out} on the doors just rub a little with a wet sponge to get wringles out, let dry & you have a new look. if you want to remove it just spray with water & pull off.no damage to the doors
You could try just taking off the doors or change the hardware. If you feel more adventerous, cut openings in doors and have glass inserts made…more money but cheaper than new cabinets… if they are truly wood and not veneer than you can sand and re-stain.
Using masking tape, design a simple decorative pattern which can be redone to all existing doors. Painting with a small roller using melamine paint would do a great job. Since painting is not your first choice then using crayons (markers permanent) follow pattern covering area with a slylist stroke. Keep in mind to apply the same approach to your lines design. Or go wild and marker stroke in different directions but with a design thru the doors. Sort of a scottish pattern. Always test try your creative design ideas on a similar material. good luck
maybe you could cut the inside middle of the doors out and put in glass maybe just changeing the hardware would make a difference
otherwise stencil
