Nowadays however, there are lots of ways to utilize the 90° space in the corner of your kitchen that do not involve crawling on the floor and groping around in the back of a dark cabinet.
If you are having a completely new kitchen installed, there are a few different ways to use the corner space. Instead of having just the usual counter space, you could consider locating your sink or hob on the top of the corner kitchen cabinet.
There are several designs that accommodate this feature. It looks great, because the corner is usually angled so that is no longer a sharp corner but a smooth line connecting one wall to the other.
Alternatively, if you are just revamping a tired kitchen, the space inside the existing corner kitchen cabinet can be used effectively by asking yourself what you plan to store in there and how are you going to get at these things when you need them?
For instance, if your corner kitchen cabinet incorporates your sink you would probably want to store cleaning material or, if you have your hob in that corner space, you may want to store pans and lids.
