make a deal with her.. that you’ll stop doing something annoying if she does. dont make this all about her. she doesnt want to feel attacked. Im not surprised she tried misdirection.
you have things that you do that bother her, so ask her what those are and try to come to a compromise that if you’ll work on it then she can work on closing the cubboards. If my husband is a jerk about something that I do, im a lot less likely to want to improve, than if he comes at me from an equal loving teamwork approach. she doesnt want to feel like she is the only one that does things wrong. another important thing to remember: she wants you to acknowledge the good things so she does do, there is nothing wrong with that. the more good things you give her credit for, the easier it will be for her to hear the things you are unhappy with.
Tell her to close the kitchen cabinets…
