varnish
Woodworking
i am not sure of the name of it, but go to any home depot or lowe’s and ask for it in a spray can. it is easy and it works. i have done it.
You have got to be talking (poly)–Varnish only glaze is a mixture for faux finishing. So this (poly) –Varnish is an oil base so you will need some thinner start with just # 1 gallon. For cleaning brush and anything else.
Take off the handles and brush with a china brisle brush with wood grain go ahead and take your draws out and mark the since you are going varnish leave the doors in place.
Mark draws and stand them up to varnish.
If you remove your doors be sure to number left to right or right to left are you will have a hard time putting them back up. Top # 1 T and so on around and the Bottoms mark # 1 B and so on around.
Note: Make sure you clean your cabinets before varnishing with Nox Gloss you can buy at the paint store.
Well, i only know how to do a color glaze, but if that is what you are doing then you’ll need to make a one-to-one mixture of paint and glaze. The glaze makes the paint more transparent and slows the drying time. Tape off any areas that you don’t want color-glazed, then apply the mixture with a disposable bristle brush (first pull out any loose bristles or you’ll have some not-so-pleasant surprises in the finish), following the grain.
