I have new house. Want to change a few kitchen cabinet doors with glass doors. cabinet company said must?
Cabinet company said must replace entire cabinet because the inside of the cabinet is just a light melamine. I have cherry cabinets. I asked if it could be stained she said no. So, how else could be done? Or once things are in the cabinets, the color doesn't show through that much? Anyone shed any light on this topic. I tried googling this, but came up empty. Thanks.

What about getting some pretty contact paper that matches your kitchen and apply that over the areas that show? You may need someone to help you to prevent it from crinkling and sticking to itself as you work. Good luck.
Find yourself a supplier of laminate sheeting (Formica or similar), and purchase in the colour of your choice.
It can be cut with a very sharp knife, or a router, or ideally by a carpenter, and glued in place with contact adhesive.
Failing which, buy new cabinets, which may work out cheaper as you are already buying new doors.
you can get 1/4 inch thick plywood stain it the color you want and cut it to fit over the parts you want to cover up im sure if you sanded and put primer on the inside first paint would probably stick to it but i wouldent apply the paint with a brush im sure theres other ways you can go but i dont seee any reason why you should just have to get a whole new cabinet maybe try a diffrent cabinet company and tell them that replacing the cabinet is not an option and see if they can come up with something
