I have used stripping spray and gel on my kitchen cabinets and have sanded them already. Now what?
I have sanded and gotten them back to normal condition, they were painted white. Do i need to raise the wood before I stain? Do I need to applyu a clear coat after I stain? And if so, how many coats?

The number of stain coats you add to wood depends on how dark you want it. If you want it to be darker after the first coat just add a second coat. Stain is enough but you can go further and use a wood polish. Polished wood is easier to clean. I would use a floor wood polish for maximum durability. Lightly sand between polish coats, 1 coat of polish would be enough, 2 would be great.
If you have a grain in the wood, what you can do to make it interesting is run a blow torch over the surface very quickly to scorch just the top surface of the grain and then stain and then seal wit marine grade varnish, apply several coats and rub down with fine grade sandpaper after each coat is well dry. Do not rub don the final coat.
