I need information on what to use for cleaning kitchen cabinets please.?
I have kitchen cabinets that were sanded with fine sandpaper , then they were stained to be dark. They also were varnished.I would like to have something that would clean them without destroying the finished varnish. Especially around the stove area where there is some grease build up and then they end up collecting dust. I do not know what to use and keep the original finish and not scratching them also. Thank you for your help.

Mix a gallon of hot water with either Mr. Clean or lemon ammonia. Both are great degreasers, remove grime and protect the finish. Murphy’s is a wonderful cleaner, but it won’t dissolve grease very well.
Another thing to do once a year (we always choose the week before Thanksgiving) is to revitalize your cabinets’ finish with an old fashioned oil finish. You mix 1 part turpentine to 3 parts boiled linseed oil. Stir with a paint stick, then wipe on your cabinets, let soak in for a minute, then wipe off. I picked up the hint eons ago from the Michigan State Cooperative Extension Service. There is no finer finish in the world…and the glow of the cabinets is unbelievable.
Try W-D40. Sounds nuts, but spray it on a rag and use a bit of good old fashioned elbow grease. Good luck!
Pine Sol or Murphy Oil Soap
murphy’s oil soap works really well for cleaning wood, stained, varnished , or not
I agree with ev’1 but still use my mom’s old-fashioned remedy…T.S.P. and hot water!
nan has the right idea. tsp works great not only for cabinets but for washing walls before painting. it works great. just remember to use gloves cause that stuff is corrosive on skin.
