I usually use 'Fantastic' and it doesn't work so well, so I tried 'degreaser' for autos and it melted the grease off in seconds, before I even had the chance to wipe it off. Is it going to damage the white cabinets? They look fine now.
I like the Kim Cream degreaser idea.

We have a wall cabinet over a microwave which is over the stove that has a build up of grease. I have tried 409 and Simple Green and neither seemed to work. Perhaps I could have rubbed harder and longer but I was afraid of ruining the finish on the cabinet. Does anyone know of a product that will cut through the grease and not mess up the finish?

How can I get the grease off without scratching the cabinets? What is the best type of material and cleaning solution to use? Any suggestions welcome, thanks!

My husband and I just bought a home that on the surface was very clean. As we have begun preparing to paint, I found lots of grime on the tops of my cabinets. I have been using a paint scraper to get the 1/8" of grease up and then have been alternating Mr. Clean and Dawn but NOTHING is getting these cabinets smooth and my hands are sticky for hours afters...any suggestions of other products I can use that won't damage my wood?

The kitchen cabinets right above my stove are disgusting. The last people who lived here must have cooked a lot of really greasy food on the stove and now the cabinets right above it are gross with the residue. I'm not sure what I can use to remove the grease/oil/smoke residue that will be safe for the wood. Any ideas?

Our kitchen cabinets have accumulated grease over years what can I use to clean this?

I need to clean my kitchen cabinets and I'm not sure how to get the grease build up off of them. In the past I've use furniture polish to help spruse them up, and just regular cleaners like soap and water, but it doesn't do the job. When I clean, I like to do a thorough job, and my kitchen cabinets have always been lacking that because of me not being able to find the right cleaner to cut through the grime and grease.
What should I use? My kitchen cabinets are the generic wood kind...I think maple. Not too sure. This house was built back in 92 and it has the original cabinets. When we bought the house in 2003, the previous owner did not clean them very well, and ever since, I've had a hard time keeping them clean and cleaning them thoroughly.

Any tips, advice will be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

My grandfather passed away and I now have to get his house ready to sell. Everything is in pretty good shape other than the kitchen cabinets, which are slightly worn and coated heavily with grease and grime, especially around the range area. They are constructed of birch and have a natural finish. I think they used a light wood stain and sealed them with polyurethane.

If anyone knows an cheap alternative to stripping and re-finishing you would be a Godsend to me!!
I would greatly appreciate any ideas!

I'm remodeling a trailer. The kitchen cabinets look horrible with years of grease and grime that have severely discolored them. I've tried scrubbing the grease off with steel wool, several cleaners, sandpaper etc. I just purchased heavy-duty degreasers from a chemical supply company, but haven't used them yet. My quesiton is what do i do to make them look more updated. they have veneer with pressed wood underneath. am i able to sand the veneer. i prefer to be able to paint them as opposed to staining (rest of the kitchen is dark wood paneling, i want to brighten it up a bit) Thank for any suggestions

I moved into this apartment building, and on the bottom of the kitchen cabinets and some of the cabinet doors there is grease just caked on from the stove beneath it. So much for landlord's "cleaning" before a new tenant moves in.

What can I use to take the grease off? It looks just horrible.
