Do I have to pay sales tax on new kitchen cabinets if the company that I am buying them from is also installing them? I live in Florida, and I am under the impression that if the cabinets become a permanent part of the house, there is no sales tax. However, the remodeler that I am using says that he has to charge sales tax. Am I getting rooked?
Hi there so I've decided to replace my old kitchen cabinets with new doors. I'm going to have remove the old hinges (the mounting plates) from the inside of the cabinets because they don't line up with the newer hinges. There are two screws..philips head I thought would take care of them but the moment I start trying to unscrew them they move about a 1/4 turn counterclock wise and then they just don't move anymore...no matter how hard I turn! I thought maybe it was a bum screw but all the mounting plate screws have this little give and then that's it...no more movement. I'm guessing there's some sort of jacket holding the screw?? Any hints on how to get these screws out would be greatly appreciated.

We recently purchased an older home. Built in the 60's. The house is in GREAT shape, but the kitchen cabinets ( lower ones ) have years of food build up on them.. just on the most used cabinets. The cabinets have a great shine to them, and the upper ones look like new, but the bottom ones... another story, and it's just around where the handles are, and a few long drips.. HOW can I save the shine and the cabinets? I want to get the gunk off but don't want to take off the shine ( possibly a varnish ) Please HELP!! I'll need what tools to use and cleaner advice as I've never had to do this before.. I always rented newer homes, and didn't have this problem. Thanks to all that respond.

There isnt much damage, it isnt too noticeable, but I want to be able fix what little damage they caused.
Is there some sort of a corner guard that I can put on the edge of the cabinet that will stop them from chewing on the actual cabinet?

Years ago when I was a little kid my mother renovated out kitchen, terribly. She tried to stain the flat kitchen cabinets, but she had too much of a red stain. It looks terrible, but she had 3 kids running around and couldn't fix it. I need to know if there is any sort of tool that I can use to detail the cabinets, make them look more like this:

The bottom cabinets, with the straight cuts. The curved cuts on the top cabinets are too hard. My dad will be doing the cutting and he doesn't exactly know what he's doing. Also, should I sand them before or after they're cut? I'm sanding them to re-stain them. Thanks!
